Day 1
CAI BE – LONG HO – CHO LACH
Begin cruising from Phu An Jetty at 10:00 am. From the sampan, observe life as it plays out on shore – people going about their daily activities set against mesmerising backdrops. At Tan Phong Islet, board a small row boat to better explore the canal’s hidden mangroves.
Return to your sampan to Long Ho, lunch is served on board while cruising along a narrow canal teeming with life. Observe the endless boat traffic and the quiet but constant activity along the banks.
Continue by sampan, observing from your boat the life on the shore, the people, and the stunning landscapes. We will then cross the Co Chien River, passing by quaint villages to visit the most famous “Red claypot kingdom”.
Continue to Cho Lach, the famous area for its fruit tree nursery gardens. Enjoy shore excursions to gain insight into how the local people make a living, and stop for an ornamental plant and Bonsai garden or a temple in a tiny village.
Back to your sampan and enjoy a charming cruise during the sunset. Dinner is served on board while the Song Xanh continues its cruise on the Ham Luong River. Overnight on board.
Day 2
CHO LACH – BEN TRE
Wake up early at 6:00 am for a leisurely cruise on the peaceful waterways passing remote islets of the Mekong Delta. As we make our way down this famous river, take in the local life as you pass by fisher folk checking their daily catch and floating houses imperceptibly balanced on the mighty Mekong.
Breakfast is served on board while the Song Xanh navigates towards Ben Tre among local barges loaded with fruits and coconuts from the Delta. We’ll make stops along the way to explore local cottage industries, including the making of coconut candy and puffed rice (the local equivalent of popcorn). Return to your sampan and continue cruising towards and disembark at the Hung Vuong hotel’s jetty at approximately 10:00 am.
